Who is Max Barth, Jr., you may be wondering. He was a passionate man who believed in conservation and supported conservation youth activities. Mr. Barth Jr. served on the Harper County Conservation District Board from 1974-2005 and was an avid supporter of the Land Judging Contest and Resource Awareness Scholarships for Teachers. Mr. Barth Jr. was known in his community for sponsoring teachers and students out of his own pocket to ensure everyone had an opportunity to attend conservation events. To honor Mr. Barth, Jr. the Harper County Conservation District has developed the Max Barth Scholarship. Giving back to the Harper County community is exactly what Mr. Barth Jr. dedicated much of his life towards and this scholarship will continue to do just that.
